Human Rights Policy

Policy & Commitment

In line with Everlight Chemical’s core values and philosophy, the Company has established its Human Rights Policy on August 16, 2019. The policy is based on Four Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and takes into consideration local regulations at each operational location worldwide. The policy explicitly stipulates the Company’s commitment to respecting employees’ freedom of association and right to collective bargaining, prohibition of forced labor and child labor, zero tolerance for unlawful discrimination, and continuous promotion of character education. The policy has been signed and approved by the Company’s chairman and announced publicly.
The policy applies not only to employees but also non-employees such as contractors and subcontractors working on our premises.
Human Rights Risk Assessment
All our global locations strictly comply with local regulations. All operational locations in Taiwan, Trend Tone Imaging and Everlight Suzhou implement the Company’s Human Rights Policy and conduct relevant training to prevent any human rights violations.
In addition, in the 3,000+ procurement contracts we sign with suppliers each year, we have included explicit provisions stipulating that both parties and their affiliates shall adhere to corporate social responsibilities, including compliance with the law and international conventions, emphasis on ethics and character, respect for universal human rights, prohibition of child labor, forced labor or discrimination, and the protection of employee health and safety. We have also disclosed our social responsibility standards on the supplier portal of our official website, so that suppliers understand our stance and requirements regarding employees’ freedom of association and collective bargain rights.
Measures to Prevent Negative Human Rights Impacts
In compliance with the Labor Standards Act and Employment Service Act, Everlight Chemical does not employ child labor under the age of 16 and ensures equal treatment of job applicants and employees, regardless of their race, language, ideology, religion, political affiliation, place of origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, and other characteristics. The Company does not compel or coerce any unwilling individuals to engage in labor and ensures that employees have reasonable working hours.
In addition, in accordance with the law, labor-management consultation meetings are held quarterly, where management and labor representatives engage in thorough communication and exchange of opinions. The Company approaches labor relations with a sincere attitude. We value and appropriately respond to employees’ opinions, so as to effectively coordinate labor-management relations and facilitate cooperation. We also hold year-end employee symposiums and publish quarterly journals to inform employees on Company’s key policies and achievements, providing smooth channels of communication for employees to promptly voice their opinions.
