Employee Benefits and Care

Supporting Employees with Critical Illness/Injury and Dependents of Deceased Employees

Everlight Chemical implements a support program to provide employees with critical illness or injury with necessary assistance in life and make necessary adjustments to their work routines, supporting employees through their recovery process. Towards families of deceased employees, we offer a cost-of-living allowance for children of the bereaved families, offer condolence stipends every Lunar New Year and check in with them by phone.

Employee Assistance Program

Everlight Chemical continues to implement an employee assistance program (EAP) that offers on-the-phone and in-person counseling services from the Taiwan Institute of Psychotherapy. Employees can also resort to the EAP program if they need guidance on retirement or career transition. In 2022, 90 employees utilized the phone counseling services of the EAP program (no sessions involved the topic of retirement).

We also held another sensitivity training for managers in 2022 to enhance managers’ communication skills and ability in identifying the needs of colleagues. In response to the fire incident at ECIC Plant III, we also initiated a care and assistance program to support employees (counseling provided to 21 employees).

Retirement System

  • We offer retirement plans to employees in accordance with the Labor Standards Act or the Labor Pension Act.
  • We also offer an Early Retirement Program and the Formula Sixty Program (Tenure of Service + Age) to any employees in need.
  • We present retirement awards and souvenirs to honor retiring employees. The highest-level manager of the retiree’s division will present a certificate of good character to honor their dedication and contribution to the Company.
We also provide retirees with opportunities to transition to an advisory role based on their expertise. In 2022, 3 employee-turned advisors were hired to participate in projects/counseling, providing guidance to their successors and sharing experience and insights. Through this practice, retired managers can adjust to life after retirement and pass on their wisdom and insights.
