We utilize an online management platform and have created our Intellectual Property Management Manual. Through daily management, continuous improvement, internal/external audits and management reviews, we review the details in our intellectual property management system to ensure its effectiveness and strengthen the Company’s intellectual property management capabilities.

Patent Protection Measures

Patent Management Committee

By implementing an evaluation mechanism, incentive programs and training, we encourage employees to participate in innovation and take actions to protect the Company’s R&D accomplishments. The committee regularly reviews and maintains the Company’s patents to ensure that the Company’s intellectual property is properly managed and protected.

Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System (TIPS)

Everlight Chemical has obtained reaccreditation to the Level A certification of Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System (TIPS) on December 31, 2022. The certificate is valid through December 31, 2024.
Protecting Trade Secrets
Based on the trade secret management system we have established per TIPS standards, and combined with our information security management system (ISMS), we protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of trade secrets in our operation, further safeguarding the Company’s core competitiveness.

Implementation & Performance on Intellectual Property Management

The Patent Management Committee has presented its intellectual property management and implementation report to the board on August 11, 2022, and have proposed improvement measures based on the board’s recommendations.
Key measures implemented in recent years include the following:

Obtained the Level A certification of Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System (TIPS) in 2018

Passed reaccreditation to the Level A certification of Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System (TIPS) in 2020

Introduced the ISO 27001 information security management system to strengthen trade secret protection

In 2022, the Patent Management Committee reviewed 7 patent applications. During the year, the Company obtained 4 new patents, which brought the number of invention patents owned by the Company to 195. Additionally, 8 journal publications or conference papers were published, and six training sessions related to patents were held.
